in amongst the crazy busyness

sometimes it's good to take an hour out of my day to spend with just one of my children

a gentle evening walk with beautiful views

the weather felt positively balmy

people were sitting around watching the sunset and playing music, it was quite lovely

A lovely moment in amongst the busy times this week.

Rain? What rain?

In between all the busyness of trying to list every day for folksy and in the process improve photography skills and keep up with all the lovely things people are listing at folksy and sew too, we have had some magical moments at the beach.

last night was certainly one of them.  We had planned a barbecue on the beach for our lovely visitors' last night but it rained.  We were ready to grill the veggie kebabs but as the sun peeped through occasionally our guests reminded us that they don't live by the sea and were ready to chance a wet bbq so off we set.

and I'm so glad we did, because it was warm, the rain held off, the children swam and played football and the sun showed itself for the sunset.  A beautiful evening was had by all.  Sometimes it takes visitors to remind us how lucky we are.

when family visit

i love it when friends and family visit us in Cornwall (it's a long drive for them from Lincolnshire!).  we seem to get back that real holiday feeling and do things that in the day to dayness of life we have a tendency to forget about.  and so cricket on the beach with auntie and uncle

even though the sun wasn't out all day (it was still very hot) we enjoyed the beach

and some of us (not me today as I'm coughing at the moment) enjoyed the sea

uncle just had to go in and A and T followed him. 

we're lucky enough to have more family coming down soon so i think that this will be a lovely summer
